This time, I would like to introduce that I was involved in the "Scrap Car Regeneration Project" of Osaka Metro.

In May 2021, when the retirement age was approaching and one year had passed, Osaka Metro saw the net news that the "Scrap Car Regeneration Project" was announced, and the purpose was "Reuse the scrapped vehicle." I want more people to get to know me. I sympathized with the idea that "" is something that is familiar to me on a daily basis, so I applied to participate in the "Scrap Car Regeneration Project".

However, although I applied, I was very worried whether I would be able to select an elderly creator who has been retired for 5 years after returning to Osaka, among a large number of active creators and many manufacturing companies.

After a few weeks of waiting for the results, I was fortunate enough to adopt three product proposals that I had planned, and disassemble the steel parts while keeping the ideas that came up in my head. The days of making mockups while struggling hard have begun.

When planning, I bought a reusable one while thinking about what parts of the 10A series (1987, 10-car train) running on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line. I was excited to think about what kind of person the person would be, what the purpose of the purchase was, and where and how it would be used.

In addition, I solidified the product image while paying attention to the things that I can create and process by myself and the design that does not spoil the original image.

Of the three products adopted, one is used in kitchens, washrooms, bathrooms, etc., as it is something that the general public can touch in everyday life, regardless of age or sex, adults and children.

I thought of a towel hanger as something that you can get, and by using it, you can feel the nostalgic feelings of the vehicle you were riding when you commute to work or school.

In the production of this towel hanger, I assumed a band part with a gentle color that makes me feel nostalgic when I see it in everyday life scenes, and I bought it myself in Kita Ward, Minami Ward, Nishi Ward, etc. in Osaka City. As long as I could walk around in Osaka, I searched for materials and bought them by hand, cutting and processing them.

The second is a weather meter that reuses the speedometer in the driver's seat of the vehicle. Mitsume also devised a table clock using a voltmeter installed on the left wall switchboard in the driver's seat. In these two productions, I used 3DCG, which is my specialty, to reproduce the appearance and clock structure in three dimensions, and I asked Osaka Metro to check the appearance of 360 ° as a VR object through the net. While doing so, I proceeded with product design.

Then, at the unveiling in February 2022, it was released as a mockup in the media such as TV and newspapers, but after the meeting was over, we had a meeting with the person in charge of Osaka Metro about the housing material, and the mockup. At the stage of uploading, I told you that I was still not satisfied with the texture and structure, and decided to take time to improve and make corrections.

Actually, a few days ago, I consulted with my former senior about housing making and materials, but I asked a furniture craftsman who has 50 years of experience as a craftsman living outside Osaka city.

We were able to introduce you, and we would like to ask that person to cooperate in the housing part.

Thanks to the advice from the craftsmen who have worked on high-end custom-made furniture and audio speakers so far, this housing construction also has a special mechanism called Kendon, which is a traditional craft art. I was able to.

The resulting table clock and weather meter will be a stately and supreme product suitable for combination with a speedometer and pressure gauge, which are indispensable for Osaka Metro drivers to know the operating status and driving condition when driving.

I was able to do it, and I was very pleased with the people of Osaka Metro.

Shortly after delivery, it was posted on the sale at Osaka Metro's shopping site "Osaka Metro Create", but I'm glad that all the products that Dreambit worked on were sold out immediately after the release.

We were able to receive the information from Osaka Metro! As a creator, I am full of gratitude and aspirations.

I'm sure that the design that cherishes the image that was used in the original vehicle was accepted as a memory of the people who got on and used it.

Just as the customer who purchased this vehicle remanufactured product used instruments to protect the safety of passengers in their daily lives, this time to make their lives and lives more comfortable.

We would appreciate it if you could use it as an item to tell the weather and time of.

The important reason why both products have a function as a watch is that the memory of the vehicle that the customer actually got on is remembered by the customer's important partner and children.

I hope that you will continue to convey the nostalgic memories of spending time with Osaka Metro's vehicles with this product so that you can keep track of time with your grandchildren.
